Highlights
The 07-08 membership year (August to August) was arguably the most significant for the Brisbane Development Association (BDA).
2007 marked the BDA's 50th anniversary: a time for celebrating and acknowledging the Association's many achievements. 2008 is characterised by the Association's concerted efforts to lead discussion and debate about issues and opportunities facing this great city. Highlights include:

We hosted 11 successful breakfast and luncheon seminars during the year. These events featured diverse and inspiring speakers including Premier Anna Bligh MP, Lord Mayor Campbell Newman, South Bank Corporation CEO Malcolm Snow, and Arup Deputy Chairman of Infrastructure Colin Stewart.

We staged the inaugural Brisbane Awards presented by FKP and gala dinner in 2007. The second Brisbane Awards will be held in October 2008.

The second Brisbane Future Roundtable presented by Brisbane Airport Corporation was held on 20 February 2008.

With support from South Bank Corporation, we staged Super Studio: an exciting, challenging, and visionary event, involving key advisory and educational institutions that provided innovation, rigor and passion to deliver a glimpse of what Brisbane may become in 2057.

We hosted special events for patron members featuring guest speakers such as Lord Mayor Campbell Newman and Queensland Opposition leader Lawrence Springborg.

The association's membership has been maintained with broad representation in the public and private sectors. The BDA's patron members increased with two new organisations becoming patrons in 07-08.

We continued to build on our strong voice in the public and private sectors.

Members of our Executive participated in several committees ensuring we remained at the forefront of urban design and were proactive in the city-making process.
